Vernita is a freelance makeup artist who trained at Yvonne de Vilar Center for Skin Care Ltd in Vienna Virginia. She was also a Lancome beauty advisor. She keeps in tuned to makeup trends for HD makeup, airbrush and certification for lash extensions. Vernita also attends various workshops with leading makeup artist like Candace Corey, Danessa Myricks, Suzanne Patterson, DeShawn Hatcher, James Vincent, Kathy Aragon, Pamela Taylor, and Ildiko.
February 2010, Vernita became a member of Dripbook to display her artistry. Vernita's artistry is featured in The Business of Professional Modeling for January 2010. She recently started a blog, Vernita's Makeup Blog where she will provide tips related to the makeup industry and welcomes your subscription and comments! Vernita has provided makeup artistry for Couture Fashion Week, Spring 2009 collection during New York Fashion Week in September 2008. She has also provided makeup services for DC Fashion Week in 2007 and 2008.Vernita has also been part of the crew as assistant makeup artist for two production in 2009 and 2010 by Fruits of the Spirit Productions, Inc. headed by Arlette Fletcher, Baltimore, Maryland.
Vernita is a member of the Metropolitan Makeup Artistry Network, the DC Fashionistas, the MAW Members and The Powder Group (TPG) Pro and Crystal Wright Live. Vernita provides makeup artistry for print, video, commercial, weddings and runway. She also collaborates with her husband, Lonnie of Lonnie Dawkins Photography for shoots as well. Vernita will artistically enhance your natural features to achieve the final touch.
